Momogi Group Ships First Export to Gabon, Expanding Indonesian Products’ Presence in the African Market

Jakarta, September 7, 2026 – Momogi Group is strengthening its international expansion with its first shipment of products to Gabon, Central Africa, on August 21, 2026. The initial shipment comprised hundreds of thousands of product pieces from three brands in its portfolio: Momogi, Migi-Migi, and Yale-Yale. This milestone marks a strategic step in expanding the international market for Indonesian snack products while strengthening Momogi Group’s presence in Africa through collaboration with distribution partners in the destination market.

The first export to Gabon marks another milestone in Momogi Group’s growth strategy to bring Indonesian food and beverage products to international markets. As its global distribution network continues to expand, the company is pursuing new opportunities across countries by offering a diverse product portfolio tailored to consumer needs and local market characteristics.

“Our first shipment to Gabon represents an important milestone in Momogi Group’s global expansion journey. For us, entering a new market is not simply about extending our sales reach, but also about building a foundation for long-term growth through strategic partnerships and a deeper understanding of consumer needs in each country,” said Servin Njoo, Director of Momogi Group.

The selection of three brands for the initial shipment reflects Momogi Group’s strategy to introduce a diverse product portfolio to international consumers. Momogi serves as one of the company’s flagship snack brands, while Migi-Migi expands its offerings in the wafer category and Yale-Yale complements the portfolio with its distinct product range. Through this combination, Momogi Group aims to reach a broader consumer base across different market segments.

The export to Gabon also builds on the momentum of Momogi Group’s international business growth. In the first half of 2026 (H1 2026), the company’s export volume exceeded 10 million pieces, representing approximately 140.54% growth compared with the same period in the previous year. This performance was supported by market expansion and increased international shipping activity, with more than 80 TEUs recorded during the period. The addition of Gabon further broadens the company’s international footprint and supports its strategy to increase the contribution of export business to overall growth.

The African snack market also presents opportunities for further product penetration. According to Mordor Intelligence, savoury snacks accounted for approximately 46.82% of the Middle East and Africa snack market in 2025, making them the region’s largest snack category. Meanwhile, supermarkets and hypermarkets accounted for approximately 35.37% of sales, highlighting the importance of strengthening retail distribution networks to reach consumers.

At the country level, Gabon’s confectionery and snack market is also influenced by evolving consumer preferences for convenient, ready-to-eat products with increasingly diverse flavor options. As lifestyles evolve and demand for convenient snack products grows, the market presents opportunities for international brands to introduce new offerings through well-established distribution networks.

Moving forward, Momogi Group will continue to assess opportunities for further development in Gabon based on consumer response and distribution progress, while exploring expansion into additional countries. This strategy will be supported by stronger local partnerships, continued portfolio development, and the company’s ability to deliver products that align with the needs of international markets.

The first export of Momogi, Migi-Migi, and Yale-Yale to Gabon reflects Momogi Group’s commitment to bringing Indonesian products to global markets. By expanding its international reach and establishing a presence in new markets, Momogi Group remains optimistic about creating further growth opportunities and strengthening its position as an Indonesian fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company with an increasingly global business network.
